Kat Croft is a director, writer and producer who tells the stories of fiercely independent characters. Her most recent comedy short that she directed, MILA & MIMI TOO, premiered as an official selection of HBO'S WOMEN IN COMEDY FESTIVAL (2018) and won THE SPY WHO DUMPED ME FEMALE STORYTELLER CONTEST sponsored by LIONSGATE and IMAGINE ENTERTAINMENT (2018). Her debut short film, THE DETAIL, premiered to a sold-out crowd at CUCALORUS (2017).
Kat is also a SUNDANCE INSTITUTE + WOMEN IN FILM Finance and Strategy Lab Fellow (2017) and her latest project NATIVE SISTERS is a comedic, travel doc-series that follows two Diné (Navajo) sisters on their quest around the world to meet other incredible indigenous women.
Kat got her start in film and television in the art departments of DAWSON'S CREEK, NEW BEST FRIEND and HBO’s IRON-JAWED ANGELS. She is very proud of her work as an extra, playing an alien in Jim Henson's MUPPETS FROM SPACE – even though they cut her 1/2 second appearance – she was told it was to “save time” which she thought she was literally doing. She is also an accomplished photojournalist with many fun stories to tell.
Kat lives in Brooklyn with her wonderful wife and two kids.
